First Day Cupid Shuffle
Regardless of how "ready" we think we are for the first day of school, we're not. I know I'm freaking out on the inside.... Sometimes on the outside. So when something is not printed or my batteries don't work, roll with it. We'll get through it and be stronger for it. So I'd love to say that I'm completely ready for you.... I can't. This is close to how I am on the inside, but I won't let it be the outside. Let's have a great year.

The Struggle is Real.
As a student Senior English was one of my favorite classes. But I was one of those geeks. I would be the perpetual student if it didn't cost insane booku bucks. I have loved teaching since I started student teaching eight years ago. This year I am especially concerned with how things are not going. Time is going. Rolling... rolling... Information trudges up to their ear drums beats on it for a second then moves along as they are plugged in and over stimulated. Constantly questioning why engaging in any activity other than googling is relevant. Don't even get them started about reading a book! In the meantime, I struggle to teach skills using seemingly irrelevant curriculum while combatting behaviors that could derail the most dedicated students. Whatever happened to learning for the sake of learning? For occupying the space in between your ears with more than what is trending on twitter or who got a diet coke at lunch.
